I took the picture, below, for a reason can you tell where the City streets are?

Yes there are City streets all long this stretch of Main Street,It is NO trick question.

This had one house after another all along Main Street but you can not see any indication of a house or streets, correct?

The tornado pulled up the street signs so you could not tell where any streets were for emergency responders to go to if you had injured.

What about the structures that are unsafe to enter if you notice on the front it says 'NO ENTRY' TF1 [TF1 standa for Task Force 1] our unit.

This structure was checked by TF1 and no one live or dead was found inside but it was not safe for anyone else to enter is the reason for no entry.

I am a member of Northeast One Regional Response Team and we responded to the disaster in Smithville under MEMA.

This is a self supportive agency of FEMA & MEMA an all VOLUNTEER MEMBERS.

We responded to Tornado,Hurricane (IE: Katrina) and other disasters so I know first hand on what to do & not do when it come to disasters and saving lives.

I can & WILL be your eyes before a storm; I Will be your advocate after a storm working to get all things working to save lives and to bring a recovery as quickly as I can to the People.

We do not get paid to help People in a moment of dispair.

We are the one's whom put the orange crosses on some on the pictures on this page.

I put this on this site for a good reason I know what to do to save lives before, during & after a disaster because I have helped do it numerous times being a member of NE1RRT.

When we arrived the first thing was Search & Rescue that we started;then we found ALL communications was out so we had to set up communications for emergency services to remove the injured.

This was the first problems we encountered.

We also had to make plans for waste to be disposed of,food for the People whom came to help, notification of other emergency services Ambulances,Law Enforcement,Fire & so on.

Then the deceased we set up a temporary morgue, one location, for ID of the People and for funeral homes to have one location to recover those whom God called home.

This is ONLY about 1% of the problems we worked on during the first hour of the disaster.

This was no way the problems when we responded to the Gulf Coast after Katrina, since we had a week to prepare and to set up.

Katrina was a lot different since the time span was longer with Smithville it was at a moment notice to get ready & respond.

Katrina we had over a week since we had a hurricane a few weeks before Katrina.

One last item to think about what about the weather look at the picture bottom left and look at the clouds this is another threat are the emergency services safe from another storm, tornado and so on NE1RRT has an officer monitoring the weather to alert the People on the ground.

See the slab but no house wonder what the address was? The address was on the front of the house.

Almost impossible to tell when everything looks all the same so we need someone to have a pre-plan on how to locate the homes and addreses to locate homes after a disaster.

What are you going to do if your Fire Protection,Law Enforcement or County crews are damaged as was in Smithville with the Police Station and all their patrol cars; Looters and so on,what to do?

This is the Police Station and notice the the City Street Dept. vehicle sitting behind the Station damaged.
